I met little Grace last year after her mom and I met each other at Ridgewater College where we attend school for Photography. (her mom is Darcie- “the queen of pink, damask, leg warmers, and everything girly!”) Darcie has begged me to photograph her girls for some time now and I finally gave in. Why now? I don’t know. But now that I know how much fun it was to photograph one of her girls, I know I will not put it off this long ever again!
Darcie came to me with an idea ( i secretly think she is trying to get me off my modern funk by inserting a little girly flair into my session! lol) Grace is soon to turn 4, and Darcie had a hat and tutu made for her birthday. My job was to photograph her for her invite and I love how they turned out. I had so much fun photographing Grace. She is such a sweet, happy, funny, and beautiful little girl. Darcie and Luke- you make the best little kids!
The tutu and the hat were made by Darcie’s good friend, Jessi, who sells really awesome birthday party supplies for little kids. Her business is called Polkadots & Pirates. You NEED to look at her Etsy site and blog. She is super creative and awesome to work with.
Click on the banner to go to Jessi’s Etsy store. A link to her blog is below as well!
Thank you Grace for being so sweet, Darcie (and Luke) for creating such a cute little girl, Darcie’s mom and grandma for bringing Grace into school for the session, and Jessi for making such cool stuff!

So the last semester of school is in full swing for me and I was lucky to have Sarah come to Willmar to model for me. Sarah is my friend Darcie’s cousin. Darcie did an awesome shoot with Sarah this past fall and she asked me if I would like to photograph her as well. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity!
The session was awesome and I have to say that this is probably my favorite studio session ever! Thank you Sarah for modeling.

Last weekend I had a session with the Pierskalla Family in Melrose. Leon, Dina, Brenna, and Zack fought the cold with my assistant, Amanda, and I. We had a lot of fun at a few different locations. Leon is a member of the Melrose Fire Department so we spent some time at the new fire station and then we headed over the the Pierskalla family business, John Dough’s Pizza! I had a lot of fun working with your family. I hope you enjoy your sneak peeks of a few of my favorite images from your session. I will have the rest of your proofs ready for you by later next week. Enjoy!
p.s. If you have not been to John Dough’s Pizza, you have to make an effort to stop in there. They have the best pizza in the area and plus it is always fun to see how it is decorated for the current holiday! Give them a call at 320.256.3333. (Their supreme pizza is my favorite!)

After three cancelations because of weather, I wasn’t going to cancel again! The other weekend I met up with my aunt and uncle and cousins for a fun fall session. The rain still came and made my job a a little more challenging but I am always up for a good photographic challenge! 🙂 Putting the weather aside, I’m pretty excited about the images I got. I had a lot of fun working with you guys and can’t wait to show you the rest of your images later this week! Here are just a few sneak peek images to hold you over until Friday! Enjoy!
