I have alway found it funny how things seem to stack up on the same day, week, or weekend. This weekend would be one of them. Last week I spent most of the week prepping for the Melrose Parade; designing and ordering fliers, ordering prints for the float, buying candy, washing the vehicle for the float, and the tending to all of the little things. Little did I know that one of my parade helpers would have her baby two weeks early and bring my new nephew into this world on the same weekend as the parade! So busy is kind of an understatement for this past weekend, but I have to say, it was all worth it.
This weekend was the Melrose RiverFest days and I participated in the parade on Saturday. There was a lot of people at the parade and I hope i will be getting a few calls from some of the families and seniors that attended. I want to thank my helpers for being such good drivers, candy throwers, and flier “hander-outers”! Thank you Dad, April, Aydree, Judy, and Amanda for all of your help this weekend. Also, thank you Krissy and Billy for letting me use your vehicle. I really can’t thank you enough!
Also, as I said, my sister Krissy and brother-in-law Billy now have a new little boy! My new nephew, Caiden Ryan Pflipsen, decided to come into the world a little early on Friday afternoon! He is a tiny little boy but already seems to be pretty strong and healthy. I can’t wait to photograph him and his mom and dad in the next few weeks! Below are a few shots I took of him the day before he got to go home.

This past Tuesday I had the pleasure to meet up with one year old Hudson and his mom Kellie. It was a little bit of a challenge to get Hudson out of his shell but after a little bit of work and some picking by his mom, we got the little guy to have some fun. I really had a lot of fun with Hudson, and I am very excited to finish editing all of his images. Just give me a couple more days to have the rest done, but for now I will show you a few of my favorites from my day with this happy little boy!

I never had a client who was so facinated with bellybuttons before… we tried everything to get Dominic’s attention and the wining attention getter was his bellybutton!
Dominic is a returning client of mine. You may recognize him from my website as the little guy in the bibs and a cowboy hat. Well for Dominic’s 2 year session we started off with a more traditional location and moved on to complete his session in town for a more urban look. I really like both of the results but I am very excited about what we got from our session in town. If you are looking for something a little bit different for your kids or family, give me a call and book an urban session and we will have a lot of fun and a lot of unique photos for you to choose from!
Thank you Dominic (and Pete & Missy) for letting me try my ideas out. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek images and your entire gallery will be available soon.
