You Make Me Smile!

June 6, 2009

The other night I had the opportunity to photography my little nephew, Caiden, again! It’s so funny how fast time flies. Caiden turns one on June 27th and it seems like just a couple of weeks ago that I was getting things in line for my float in¬†the Melrose Parade when we got the call that I had a new little nephew! Crazy that a whole year has passed and that this little guy has grown so much. I visited him today and he surprised me with his first couple of steps. I’m sure by the time his mom and dad read this he will be running!

Caiden- I had SO much fun with you the other night. I can’t wait to celebrate with you at your circus themed birthday party! I know you are a little circus monkey at heart! ūüôā Enjoy your photos, and I can’t wait to watch you grow for another year! (lets make this one go by a little slower though!)

Here¬†is the¬†video and the¬†photos from Caiden’s session. I hope they make you smile!

I met little Grace last year¬†after¬†her¬†mom and I¬†met each other¬†at¬†Ridgewater¬†College where we attend school for Photography.¬†(her mom is Darcie- “the queen of pink, damask, leg warmers, and everything girly!”) Darcie has begged me to photograph her girls for some time now and I finally gave in. Why now? I don’t know. But now that I know how much fun it was to photograph one of her girls, I know I will not put it off this long ever again!

Darcie came to me with an idea ( i secretly think she is trying to get me off my modern funk by inserting a little girly flair into my session! lol) Grace is soon to turn 4, and Darcie had a hat and tutu made for her birthday. My job was to photograph her for her invite and I love how they turned out. I had so much fun photographing Grace. She is such a sweet, happy, funny, and beautiful little girl. Darcie and Luke- you make the best little kids!

The tutu and the hat were made by Darcie’s good friend, Jessi, who sells really awesome birthday party supplies¬†for little kids. Her business is called Polkadots¬†& Pirates.¬†You NEED to look at her Etsy site and blog. She is super creative and awesome to work with.

Click on the banner to go to¬†Jessi’s Etsy store. A link to her blog is below as well!

Thank you Grace for being so sweet, Darcie (and Luke) for creating such a cute little girl, Darcie’s mom and grandma for bringing Grace into school for the session, and Jessi for making such cool stuff!

Sarah… model shoot.

January 30, 2009

So the last semester of school is in full swing for me and I was lucky to have Sarah come to Willmar to model for me. Sarah is my friend Darcie’s cousin. Darcie did an awesome shoot with Sarah this past fall and she asked¬†me if I would like to photograph her as well. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity!

The session was awesome and I have to say that this is probably my favorite studio session ever! Thank you Sarah for modeling.

A day at PotSpot

January 27, 2009

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone’s new year is off to a good start. Mine has been busy. I’m busy completing my last semester of college, getting business stuff ready for this years seniors and families, and just trying to complete everything on my to do list in a timely manor! I am trying to leave a little room for fun as well, and I had a really great time the other week with Amanda at PotSpot in Avon.

Amanda and I have been wanting to paint some pottery for a while now and I heard great things about PotSpot so we had to go check it out! Amanda and I are obviously not their most common customers. The place is perfect for little kids and as soon as I walked in I knew it would be a great place for any of my clients to bring their kids. They had so many things to paint and it was difficult to choose! Amanda and I had a fun 6 hours there (yes SIX  HOURS!) and we walked out with three pieces of pottery done!

So, if you are looking for something to do on these cold winter days we are having this year, go check out PotSpot! It is really a lot of fun!

PotSpot Hours:

Monday: By Appointment
Tuesday: Noon-7pm
Wednesday: By Appointment
Thursday: Noon-7pm
Friday: Noon-7pm
Saturday: 11-6pm
Sunday: 1-5pm

Phone: 320.356.2233

Go check it out! Go have some fun!

Here are a few photos of Amanda and I hard ¬†at work! ūüôā
